Position Summary:


We're looking for an Interior Designer who is the subject matter expert for all in house design of our senior living communities - StoryPoint and Independence Village.  The Designer is responsible for leading all phases of the interior project detail from inception to post installation including: Schematic Design, Design Development, Specification Development and Installation Documentation/Project Administration.

 

Required Experience for an Interior Designer:

  • BS/BA/BAA/BFA degree or equivilant qork expereince is required
  • 3+ years of experience is required
  • Project management skills are required
  • Proficiency in Autocad/Revit, Photo Shop, Illustrator and other technology-based design tools such as Sketch Up is required
  • Experience with a construction management tool, such as Procore, is preferred 
  • CIDR ACCR NDIQ completion is preferred
  • LEED – Green or AP completion is preferred
  • CHD – Certified Healthcare Designer preferred

Primary Responsibilities of an Interior Designer:

  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects and budgets on time, on budget, and of 1440 quality
  • Complete furniture plans (units, offices, common areas), RFS, Model, Trailer, Flooring Diagram
  • Review and approve shop drawings/samples to assure they are consistent with design intent and specifications
  • Finalize fabrics, finishes, furniture, artwork, accessories, plants – review quotes by outside vendors for accuracy and to ensure it meets program
  • Installation and Furniture Punch/ Audit On-Site Visits (what was ordered vs. installed)
  • Performs field verifications for existing finishes and measurement that pertain to interior design
  • Travel will be approximately 25% more frequently at specific project milestones

General Working Conditions:


This position may entail sitting or standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
