    Overnight Travel Required (80% during summer/fall)

     

    Position Summary:

    The Food Truck Executive Chef is responsible for managing all food service operations relating to the food truck. Ensure all employees follow in house policies and procedures and meets with all federal and state requirements.

     

    Required Experience for Food Truck Executive Chef:

    • Knows State and Site sanitation policies
    • Minimum 3 years kitchen management experience; food truck experience preferred
    • Ability to drive the food truck to/from destinations; Class C Driver's license preferred or ability to obtain and maintain.
    • Ability to work weekends with overnight travel (up to 50% travel based on event schedule)
    • Bachelor’s degree or related culinary degree preferred
    • Must have experience in all Microsoft Office applications
    • Experience with POS

     

    Primary Responsibilities for Food Truck Executive Chef:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations at food truck and commercial kitchen; including but not limited to customer experience, service delivery, sales transactions and end of event reporting.
    • Plan for and purchase food for daily operations.
    • Maintain required records including food production, inventory, income/expense, meal counts and personnel records.
    • Ensure food truck staff members follow proper sanitation procedures.
    • Lead food truck employees, including cooks, food preparers, cashiers, and other employees.
    • Ensure safety standards are maintained while food is being cooked.
    • Prepare and serve the food to appropriate customers; expedite as needed.
    • Plan menus and set prices based on event type and customer market.
    • Respond to customer preferences and complaints while creating a 1440 experience.
    • Plan and budget for future events.
    • Maintain equipment including refrigerator, stove, prep table and cookware.
    • Ensure customer dining experience is memorable and impactful.
    • Hire, recruit, and train employees.
    • Lead the cleaning of the truck and commercial kitchen.
    • Maintain employee records, prepare payroll, and complete paperwork to comply with laws and regulations.
    • Keep records of supplies and purchases.
    • Consistently maintains a positive attitude which supports a team environment. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
    • Compliance with current law and policies to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
    • Consistently maintains a good attendance record.
    • The Food Truck Executive Chef supports the Mission, Values, and Vision of Senior Village Management.

     

    General Working Conditions:

    This position entails standing for long periods of time.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.  This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens.  The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.  Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
